Review: Of Mice And Men – John Steinbeck

Of Mice and MenOf Mice and Men by John Steinbeck

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A classic book that I have read over and over again. This time read with my year 9’s as part of the curriculum. A classic tale that always gets me at the end. Two men go off across the great depression hit america to work towards their own dream. The dreams are different but interlinked, George needs Lennie and Lennie needs George to get to those dreams. What I like is that this classic tale shows brotherhood and companionship at its raw core but also shows compassion and understanding or lack of the underdog. You also understand the utter isolation felt by the other characters because of age, colour or gender. This should be on everyones to read list.
